Step 1
Download the non-certified driver. Depending on the source of the driver, you may not need to worry about it being non-certified. Sometimes drivers released by large manufacturers, such as Nvidia or ATI, are not Windows certified.
Step 2
Open the driver download folder and search for a text instructional file. Oftentimes, unofficial drivers come with a text file giving specific instructions as to how to set up and install the driver.
Step 3
Run the driver setup or install executable file, following the instructions of any text files that came with your driver download. Many drivers simply require you to double-click the setup file. They will install automatically.
Step 4
After the driver has finished installing, restart your computer.
Step 5
Use your computer for an hour or two, running applications that utilize the device the new driver supports. When you use non-certified drivers, you should test whether they are working properly.
