Lightbulb Check If My Drivers Are Up to Date
Device drivers are essential for operation of your computer. Without drivers, you couldn't use your keyboard, mouse, USB slots, disc drive or any other devices connected to your computer. If you notice issues with the external devices, the drivers could need an update. Checking your PC's drivers and making sure they're up to date is easy to do. Altogether, the process only takes a few minutes to complete.

1

Connect your PC to the Internet.

Step 2

Click the "Start" button on the taskbar and click "Run" or type it into the Start menu's search bar and press "Enter."

Step 3

Enter "devmgmt.msc" into the Run menu and press "Enter" or click "OK." This brings up the Device Manager.

Step 4

Double-click the name of the device driver you want to update.

Step 5

Click the Driver tab. Then click "Update driver..."

Step 6

Click "Search automatically for updated driver software" to update automatically. If you already have the update on your PC and want to update manually, click "Browse my computer for driver software."
