Step 1
Insert the Windows XP installation CD into the disc drive of your PC computer.
Step 2
Open the Start menu, click on the "Shut Down" icon and then select the "Restart" option from the drop-down menu.
Step 3
Hit any key on your keyboard when prompted to boot to the CD. The Windows XP installer will open and load all necessary system drivers.
Step 4
Hit "Enter" to launch the Windows Setup program.
Step 5
Read the Windows license agreement and then press the "F8" key to accept the terms and conditions.
Step 6
Use the up and down arrow keys to highlight the hard drive partition from which you are running Windows XP.
Step 7
Press the "R" key on your keyboard to begin the repairing process on the selected drive. Windows will replace all corrupted drivers and system files during the repairing process and then reboot the computer.
