A public announcement was made today on the NVIDIA website along with a driver update. NVIDIA has been working with Microsoft closely to ensure they don’t encounter and compatibility problems and are taking full advantage of Windows 7’s features.
When you install Windows 7 and check for updates, you are likely to get a driver update for NVIDIA drivers. NVIDIA has been releasing driver updates as Windows 7 progresses.
Here’s a statement from Mike Nash, Corporate Vice President of Windows Product Management (Microsoft Corporation):
We expect Windows 7, coupled with NVIDIA’s graphics technologies, to deliver the fundamental performance our mutual customers have come to expect. NVIDIA’s graphics technologies enable applications to take advantage of the visual capabilities in Windows 7 such as manipulating photos, video, and 3D graphics. With the expertise NVIDIA has in visual computing, they have been a key contributor to the development of Windows 7.
NVIDIA has provided downloads to their latest drivers for Windows 7 (both 32-bit and 64-bit) not yet available on Windows Update:
Download the latest v181.71 NVIDIA graphics driver for Windows 7 Beta (32-bit)
Download the latest v181.71 NVIDIA graphics driver for Windows 7 Beta (64-bit)
By downloading the latest drivers you can expect:
* Better Performance
* Better Compatability
* Better Stability
* Less Bugs
If you are not a Windows 7 user and want the latest drivers, NVIDIA has a scan that detects whether you are using the latest drivers and notifies you if there is an update that can be found here. You will probably get a more updated version as the updates that Windows Update recommends are usually outdated.
