Step 1
Visit the Dell Drivers and Downloads website. This is the portal needed for Dell to scan your system to determine which drivers are necessary.
Step 2
Select your system. Choose to "Enter a Tag," "Select a Model," or "Login."
Enter a Tag takes you to a screen where you are prompted to enter the service tag located on the back of your Dell tower or on the bottom of your Dell laptop. The tag will be either silver or white.
Select a Model allows you to choose the make and model of your Dell without the need for a service tag.
Login takes you to a log in page where if you have an account with Dell, you can choose your computer from a previously created list.
Step 3
Choose your operating system and language from the provided drop-down lists. Choose the category for your drivers. If you need drivers for all hardware, select "All." Choose the importance for your drivers. It is recommended to install all "Urgent" drivers first and then install "Recommended" drivers. Based on your selections, a list of drivers will appear.
Step 4
Click "Download Now" beside the drivers you want to download. Double-click each downloaded driver to start an installation wizard. Each wizard will be different, depending on the driver.
